FGW + Mathematics, an interesting combination

I have to say thanks to FGW my commute has become a bit of a conundrum. And it's all thanks to the updates they place on the information boards.

Let me share some examples from just this week.

1) if the 7.08 is running 11 mins late and due at 7.19, yet is the second train due as the first train due is now the 7.20, then which train will actually due first, and what time will it arrive?

Any guesses.

Well the answer was the 7.20....which arrived nearer 7.25.

Ok, how about this one.

2) this train is formed of 2 coaches, please use the front 3 only. How does that work?

I think the third carriage would be rather draughty.

Have to say the little brain teasers do help pass the time whilst waiting for the delays.

My third question is one I'd ask of FGW, how can they justify that the season ticket I purchase is now £442.85 per month, yet since purchasing that ticket I have yet to arrive at any destination on time. That's not really a conundrum, it's a fact. FGWs service remains poor, and I have no idea how anyone can really justify the increase given trains remain delayed, and over crowded.

It's so good to be back to work after the Festive break and paying more for the same old shoddy service.

Ho hum.
